Anger

Anger
It doesn’t seem very Spiritual does it?
Not very ‘Love and Light’?

Yet it is very much a human emotion, just like happiness, or excitement — but it is often one that is hidden, and not often spoken about.

I wonder why that is?
Because it may seem out of character?
Fear of how people may react?

As Spiritual people, we have every right to feel this emotion, just as we do the more positive, easily accepted ones. However, we may find we struggle with anger, and each of us will have different triggers.

I don’t know about you, but if I allow certain issues to build up, gradually I become aware of feeling a growing sense of anger; that very difficult and unwelcome emotion — that I generally shy away from. I can feel it, bubbling away just under the surface.

I know then that it’s time to make changes. Being honest, I don’t always manage to make the change required before expressing my anger, and this I always regret. Strange though it may seem — anger, rather like the hood of a pressure cooker, can be a safety valve.

Having never been allowed to express anger as a child (‘that’s not what nice, good little girls do, is it?’) from experience I know that holding onto anger on the inside is never helpful … on any level — Emotional, Physical or Spiritual.

What is helpful, is being encouraged, helped, and feeling safe to express the things that make us feel that way — what jars within us, before the simmering becomes a whole pot of boiling bubbles, threatening to over-spill.

It’s important to be kind to yourself when you start experiencing feelings of anger. Take time out, a walk in the fresh air, do something you love. Then do what helps most … talk about it, as this helps neutralise it. This lightens the soul, and eases your Spirit.

When passing messages on from Spirit to their loved ones — anger is sometimes alluded to, at times specifically referred to. The Spirit person takes the opportunity to make amends, and with more awareness, share a deeper understanding. For they know this will help their loved ones, and help to heal themselves.

Feeling anger doesn’t make you ‘un’-Spiritual.
In part it means you’re human, a real person.
And as much as Spirit are real people … We as people, are Spirit too.
